Meeting called to order at 7:05

Present are: Lee Berkowitz, Suzanne Gervais, Stacey Simons, Alan Bloom, Steve Marx, Mark Baron, Anat Zakai

Secretary’s Report:

Suzanne presented the minutes of the May 4, 1999 meeting. Minutes accepted.

Treasurer’s Report:

Savings & Checking total about $3800.00

Old Business:

Elections: Results were handed out with accurate vote totals.

New Business:

School Liaisons: Still need liaisons for the High School.

Mark Baron will do Public Relations.

Scholarships will once be given out to two graduating seniors who have been on Ed. Plans.

Harlem Rockets have been booked Friday November 12, 7:30-9:30 PM. All tickets will be sold in advance. We have a maximum of 700 tickets to sell.

Discussed how to better promote SSEPAC to prospective members and parents who have children with special needs. Outreach.

Programs for next year.

September: Bully-proofing your schools, speaker from Wellesley College.

October: Proposed to have a representative from the Federation on the new Special Ed. Legislation that will probably be adopted by that time.

Other possibilities: Language based disabilities, behavior management, special needs open house, SSEPAC awards ceremony for people involved in the school system, PDD, Asperger's or similar topic

Other Business:

Summer meetings: July 6 and August 10, 7:00-8:30 in the Public Library

Proposed meeting of all school councils after the school superintendent's meeting (Master Parent Council). Work towards a common events calendar. Each PTO and organization would have one delegate vote. Moved that SSEPAC is supporting that idea and would like to join.
