SSEPAC Meeting 7/10/01Held at the Sharon Public Library Meeting called to order: 7:05 pm In Attendance Susan Linehan, Lee Berkowitz, Sheri Rader, Mark Baron, Marsha Elgart, Stacey Simons, Debra May, Susan Zandrow, Alan Bloom, Karen Breen, Susanne Peyton Secretary's Report The minutes were reviewed from the April and May Meetings. Minutes were approved as presented. Treasurer's Report Balances as of 7/10/01 were: Checking: $956.69 Savings: $1731.26 Old Business Fundraising Debra May is in charge of fundraising. Fall bulb sale starts on 9/10 to distribute the flyers and the fundraiser closes on 10/1/2001. This year we will also distribute the flyers at Middle and High school open houses and teacher mailboxes. Harlem Rockets: General Mitchell contacted Susanne regarding the Harlem Rockets for this fall. Sue will contact Dick Corbin and General Mitchell regarding possible dates. Sue Linehan discussed the current state of the Abilities and Challenges program. Discussion regarding spreading the Abilities and Challenges program to all the Elementary schools. School Open Houses: We will get the dates for open houses to coordinate setting up the SSEPAC table at all the school open houses in the fall. Suzanne Peyton requested permission to post on the MASSPAC web site the First Steps timeline that Mark and Sue prepared. Workshop to meet the new SPED director and new superintendent was suggested for September. We will try to schedule it as near to the start of school as possible. Announcement of the date should be announced in all the school newsletters that are being compiled in August. High School scholarships: Two Sharon High seniors were recipients of our scholarships. Workshops for the fall need to be scheduled now. Meet the PPS and SPED Directors in September. Par, Mark will call the Federation to get possible dates for Modifying the Curriculum. Parental Stress workshop in the Spring. Challenger Baseball has concluded and was successful. Next General Meeting August 7, 2001. Meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM |
