Minutes of August 8, 2000 MeetingHeld at Sharon Public Library, 7-9 PMMeeting called to order: 7:10 pm In Attendance: Mark Baron, Suzanne Peyton, Susan Linehan, Lee Berkowitz, Pam Weir, Pauline Stratis, David Levitan Secretary's ReportThe minutes were accepted as read. Correspondence: 11 Assessment Survey forms were received from the recent mailing. Ideas were received for potential workshops. Several e-mails were received and responded to. Treasurer's ReportNo report this month. Outstanding bills were received for the AANE renewal and the Center of Applied Research and MASSPAC membership dues. We are members of MASSPAC, Federation for Children With Special Needs, LDAM, National Learning Center for Disabilities, AANE, NPND, LDA. We also subscribe to Exceptional Parent magazine. Old BusinessFundraisers: The Fall bulb flyers have arrived. Flyers will be distributed in the Elementary schools between 9/4 - 9/8 Family Week: 10/22-10/31/2000. Dave Clifton indicated we could set up a table for SSEPAC. Mark Baron will send him a letter to formally request it. We will order 50 pins for sale. Workshops: IEP 2000 workshop is all set. ADD workshop, we are still negotiating with the presenters. Proposed to have a workshop on the new SPED regulations on 1/23/01. Disability Awareness Campaign: Sue Linehan is getting fact sheets for inclusion in the school newsletters and Sharon Advocate. New BusinessOther BusinessThe Parent to Parent list is being updated. We still need to add names for some specific disabilities to the list. Conference Reimbursement Program: David Levitan presented a draft of the program for critique. Brochure Distribution: The SSEPAC brochures are distributed throughout the town. The master list will be updated. Volunteers are needed to coordinate the distribution. We will buy 175 copies of the upcoming MASSPAC newsletter for distribution to all SSEPAC members. Next Meeting Tuesday September 5, 2000 at the High School, 7:00 PM. Meeting adjourned at 8:50 PM |
