Old Business 

Inclusion Task Force - SSEPAC will be presenting to the school committee (9/15) on the importance of establishing an Inclusion Task Force. Delegates would be from the School Committee, SSEPAC, regular education staff, special education staff, CHARMS, and community members.

Bully Proofing Workshop - Oct 5th at the Middle School Auditorium, 7 PM.

Co-sponsored by SSEPAC, Sharon Schools, and Elementary School PTO's. Cost of workshop is $500 plus travel expenses. Sharon Health Coordinator purchased the curriculum books for each school. SSEPAC will sell advanced tickets to Harlem Rockets fundraiser at workshop. Phyllis Bernstein has been contacted and both the Bully Proofing and Harlem Rockets will be video-taped.

Discussed the possibility of getting a volunteer from Community Service to do video-taping of all workshops. Will need 4 SSEPAC volunteers to help out at the workshop.

Harlem Rockets - ticket sales will be at Cobbs Corner Shell, Rogers Barbershop, and one other site (possibly CVS/Sharon - Mark will research).

Tickets will go on sale Friday, Oct 1st. Adults - $8, Children - $6.

Oct Workshop is scheduled for 10/19, Middle School Auditorium at 7 PM. Subject: The State of Special Education. Guest Speaker: Julia Landau from the Mass Advocacy Center.

New Business

Alan Bloom attended the recent Mass Advocacy meeting (9/13) and gave an update on the legislative overview and the MFB study. The study will not be completed and evaluated by the time the Board of Education plans on making their amendments. May still have hearings in Oct/Nov.

MCAS - It is important that we inform parents that IEP's should state what modifications be implemented during their child's testing.

Chapter 766 anniversary - SSEPAC discussed possible ways of celebrating anniversary (editorials, acknowlegement 10/19 workshop)

SSEPAC will sponsor Alan Bloom to attend the Aspergers Association of NE conference in Waltham 9/25.

Other Business

Next meeting is September 30 at the Heights Elementary School Library, 7 PM.
