The Mission of the Sharon Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SSEPAC) is to work towards the understanding of, respect for, support, and appropriate education for all children with special needs in our community.

Provide a network of support for parents including access to relevant information, training and emotional support.
Encourage an atmosphere of open communication, understanding and mutual respect among all students, parents and the community at large.
Collaborate with the parent teacher groups, school councils and other school organizations towards the betterment of education in Sharon.

Stimulate meaningful dialogue between the Sharon school system and parents:

Work with the School Committee liaison to establish procedures related to planning, development and evaluation of the special education program.
Provide regular forums for Pupil Personnel Services and parents to share information and discuss pertinent issues.
Explore opportunities for parents and school personnel to participate in joint training to foster mutual understanding.
Participate in the Special Education Budget and Three Year Plan process.

Provide outreach and support to members of the community:

Establish a support network among parents.
Provide training in Chapter 766 and development of educational plans.
Keep current with legislative challenges and inform members and community.
